Breakfast with EPCOR "Storm Water Integrated Resource Plan"

Join us on June 23rd, 2022 from 7:30 am - 9:00 am, for "Storm Water Integrated Resource: Plan How Businesses, Land Owners and EPCOR can work together to achieve long term flood mitigation targets" presented by Mat Langford from Epcor Utilities.

This seminar will provide an explanation of EPCOR Drainage’s Storm Water Integrated Resource Plan (SIRP) including the 5 SIRP Themes and funding, risk ranking of neighborhoods, and how risk rankings were determined. For Low Impact Development (LID), explanation of what is LID/How it works, types of LID, benefits to commercial/industrial/institutional sites and EPCOR Funding of infrastructure.

Mat Langford from One Water Planning at EPCOR will present. Mat has a Bachelors, Masters and PhD in Water Resources Engineering from the University of Alberta. Following a career of 13 years as a water resources engineering consultant working primarily on drainage planning projects in the capital region, he joined EPCOR as Manager of Stormwater Planning in 2021. Mat is helping lead the implementation of EPCOR's stormwater integrated resources plan, which includes their green infrastructure program among others. Mat will discuss EPCOR's flood mitigation strategy, specifically focusing on opportunities for BOMA Edmonton members and EPCOR to collaborate to rejuvenate their landscaping and achieve the co-benefits of local and community wide flood reduction.
